The rule everything follows
Every site is in exactly one of two modes. In native mode Scrubbly is fully inert — it touches nothing except a small hover pill on the active video offering to switch. In enhanced mode the Scrubbly bar becomes the only control surface: the site’s own controls are removed and actively guarded against coming back. You never see two players fighting over one video.
Zero site-specific code
Scrubbly drives playback purely through the standard web video element — there is no per-site integration to break or lag behind a redesign. That is why the same scrubber, the same volume, the same speed menu, and the same keyboard work identically on every site you watch.
The scrub policy
The bar tracks your hand instantly while playback pauses for the drag, so the decoder does nothing but serve your seeks — at most one in flight, the newest target always winning. Release, and playback resumes exactly where you let go.
The pin
Sites love to snap your speed back to 1× and your volume to full. Pin them, and Scrubbly’s page guard silently drops the site’s conflicting writes while your own changes pass straight through. 2× stays 2×.
Muscle memory, portable
Space to play, arrows to jump, J and L for long seeks, M to mute, F for fullscreen — the standard player keys, finally meaning the same thing on every site. Active only while your pointer is over the video, so pages keep their own shortcuts.
